"Each died for a cause he considered more important than his own life...As we honor their memory today, let us pledge that their lives, their sacrifices, their valor shall be justified and remembered for as long as God gives life to this nation." --President Reagan, Arlington National Cemetery, May 31, 1982
What a night--thank you all! It is a great honor to represent the hard-working individuals and families in the 14th District, and I am humbled and grateful to again receive strong support to return to Congress and continue to fight for a future full of hope for everyone. Illinois is my home, and I will fight tooth and nail to make sure Washington gets out of the way so we can prosper, while also ensuring that those most vulnerable have a voice. In Congress, I will continue to stand firm for my principles of responsible spending of taxpayer dollars, family values, a strong national defense and transparent, reliable care for our veterans and seniors.

They are ready for policies that will get Washington bureaucrats out of the way so their businesses and families can prosper. After eight years of gridlock, they are ready for the executive and legislative branches to work together to pass real solutions to real problems.
I promise to represent the concerns of all my constituents by continuing to fight for families and for opportunity for everyone in our communities. We must stop the runaway growth of government, and fight for our freedom to practice what we believe without government interference. America can still be a land of opportunity for honest and hard-working citizens. It’s government's job to help, not hinder, the American Dream. ... See MoreSee Less
