Born and raised in Illinois, Randy continues to call Illinois home, living in Plano with his four children and his wife Christy.

After graduating from Bethel College in 1988, Randy attended Chicago-Kent College of Law, graduating in 1993. Since then, Randy has served the state of Illinois for more than 20 years at multiple levels of the government.

Randy was first elected to the DuPage County Board and County Forest Preserve Board in 1994. And in 1999, Randy was elected to serve in the Illinois House of Representatives and then the Illinois State Senate in 2007.

In 2010, Randy was elected to serve Illinois’ 14th District, as part of the largest group of new Republicans in nearly 100 years.

Randy is dedicated to working for fiscal sanity, and a smarter, smaller government. He supports real healthcare reform and pro-growth policies that will put Americans back to work.

Randy currently serves on the Financial Services Committee and the Science, Space and Technology Committee. Randy is also a proud founder of the bipartisan House Science & National Labs Caucus and the Congressional Friends of Sweden Caucus and is a co-chair of the STEM Education Caucus.

Additionally, Randy is a member of several caucuses, including the Congressional Human Trafficking Caucus, Congressional Job Creators Caucus, the House Manufacturing Caucus, the Congressional Prayer Caucus, Congressional Cybersecurity Caucus and the House Hunger Caucus.
